STWR Drillable Cable Cement Retainer

Also known as a tubing‑bridge plug, it is set using conventional surface pressure‑testing or cable‑ignition methods. After running the matching tubing, cement can be squeezed into the lower intervals of the packer, and cement slurry can also be displaced at the top of the packer—making it suitable for well workovers to seal off perforations or for abandonment operations. With two string runs, cementing can be accomplished, making it ideal for highly deviated or horizontal wells. It can be set directly using either an MWSB‑type cable‑set tool or an MHSB‑type hydraulic‑set tool. Cost‑effective and inexpensive, it allows for rapid milling and removal by drilling. It can also function as a bridge plug. It can be retrofitted into a mechanically set cement packer. It can be converted into either a mechanical or a cable‑set bridge plug. Typical operating temperature is up to 148°C; custom‑rated rubber elements are available for temperatures as high as 204°C.
