Double-flap check valve

The double‑baffle check valve is a critical component of the coiled tubing standard tool string. It prevents bottomhole pressure from surging upward during tool string running or retrieval, thereby protecting wellhead equipment. The two‑stage baffle valves operate independently: the rubber‑based seal ensures tight shut‑off at low bottomhole pressures, while at higher pressures the rubber compresses, engaging metal‑to‑metal sealing to withstand elevated pressures. During operations, if ball‑dropping or short‑stick insertion is required, steel balls or short sticks may pass through the valve from top to bottom.
